Ron Perrigo, part of a family of multi-generational Santa Cruz residents, has always been passionate about a trash revolution in Santa Cruz. He saw the possibility in which clean open spaces and urban corridors were valued and respected, and that the waste that people generate, just as much of a part of any other thing in Santa Cruz, would have a way to be responsibly recycled and managed. This vision that he saw has become challenged with population growth, an expansion of unhoused residents, and a severe increase in the amount of illegal dumping throughout Santa Cruz County. Through public service, volunteer coordinated efforts, and sweat equity since 2013, Ron has worked tirelessly to enact this vision. This vision and enthusiasm and passion for a revolution caught the interest of Craig Erickson. Craig owns Koala Tree Care, a business in Santa Cruz County since 1982. Craig purchased the business from Ron in 2022, and has helped energize the vision and bring heavy equipment and expanded capabilities to the company. Craig has an environmental science degree from UCSC, and is passionate about helping keep the public spaces and parks cleaner and safer for children and the public at large. Craig also found it important to expand our services outside of goverment, and offer our history and vision and capabilities to the general public.
